Although my Grandad sadly passed away back in June, throughout the rest of the year I have had some amazing experiences and had learnt new skills.
Some things that come to mind are:
Meeting new friends. Earlier this year I met up with bloggers for the first time ever. Although we knew each other online, we were really strangers to one another. I was so nervous at first but now we try and meet up regularly.
Learning to drive. It has been on my mind for so long but I managed to be brave (which was my word of 2012!) and I booked my lessons. I'm so thankful that I had a fantastic teacher and passed on my first test!
Ian & I had a helicopter tour over London. It was my first time in a helicopter and again I was nervous at first but once we were over the city it was amazing.
| My first poor attempt! |
| My better second attempt! |
I also learnt how to crochet. It all started out with a flower to make that came with Mollie Makes magazine. My first try at it was BAD! After that it suddenly clicked and my next try was much better. My SIL to be taught me the basics and from there i've made a giant granny blanket, jar votives and lots of scarves/snoods.
What sticks out in my mind mostly is getting engaged to Ian. Our first little holiday to Canterbury will always be a memory. I still look at my ring everyday and am dazzled by how sparkly it is!
So 2013 is here. It is scary to think what changes, good and bad, will come our away throughout the year. Fingers crossed it will be just as good as 2012 was!
Ian and I are doing an evening photography course over the next 10 weeks at a local college. It will be great to finally understand what everything on our camera does. I'm also starting a 'study at home' course in Interior Design which will result in a Diploma. It's something that's always interested me so it should be good. It will be so weird studying/going to college again!
Happy New Year!
